Facebook opens its Oculus Quest Enterprise headset to all companies for $ 1,000

Facebook announced Oculus Quest's Enterprise Edition, sold for $ 1,000 on the Oculus for Business platform, is now available for purchase by all companies.

Back in January Facebook has withdrawn its 3DOF headset, the Oculus Gofrom the business platform and instead began offering the Oculus Quest as part of a new Oculus for Business initiative. However, this was previously only in the closed beta.

Facebook has some details about the Oculus for Business platform in a blog post on the Oculus website and landing page. Oculus for Business.

When a company buys a quest through the Oculus for Business platform for $ 1,000, it doesn't get a consumer device. Instead, this quest was developed specifically for companies and offers company-oriented functions such as a kiosk demo mode and two years of company-quality support via telephone, live chat or email.

Business Edition quests have a custom operating system that does not access the typical quest store for downloading games and other content for end users. Instead, businesses get unique features like setting up multiple devices, the ability to charge the headsets with their own content to start them straight away, and even remote access.

The multi-device setup is designed to help companies speed up work at events and for internal use. With a separate version of the Oculus mobile app, companies can set up and update multiple headsets at the same time, with the app being a central hub.

When using an Oculus for Business Quest, the user interface also differs because company-approved content is placed in the foreground and in the middle, rather than having to load things from the page or access a store that was not designed for corporate use cases.
